Natural Citrine Tumblestone from Brazil
A warm, understated citrine with pale honey-yellow, champagne and creamy tones. The photographs show the character of these larger tumbled stones.
Natural vs Heat-Treated Citrine
These tumblestones are natural citrine. Natural citrine gets its yellow colour through geological processes, while much of the citrine sold commercially is amethyst or other quartz that has been heated to develop yellow or orange tones. Natural citrine is often paler and more subtly coloured; heat-treated stones can be brighter orange or amber. Colour alone is not a reliable way to verify treatment alone.
Physical Properties
Citrine is the yellow variety of quartz (SiO₂), with a Mohs hardness of 7. These stones have been tumbled for a smooth feel while retaining their individual shapes and natural internal variation.
Geology & Origin
Quartz forms as silica-rich fluids crystallise in spaces within rocks. These natural citrine tumblestones are from Brazil. Their delicate colouring and visible internal features give each stone its own character.
Crystal Properties
In crystal traditions, citrine is associated with optimism, confidence and abundance. Some people keep a piece nearby as a cheerful reminder to approach the day with positivity.
