Natural Rough Double Terminated Citrine Crystal Points – 45mm to 55mm

Soft honey-yellow tones, warm golden shading and rugged crystal surfaces give these natural rough citrine points an understated beauty. Their raw, unpolished character makes them an appealing addition to a mineral collection, a small display or a personal meditation space.

Listed as double terminated, these points have irregular ends rather than the perfectly symmetrical tips of a shaped and polished crystal. The photographed examples show rough patches, small chips and uneven edges, so please expect a rustic specimen rather than a flawless finish.

Physical Properties

  • Mineral: Citrine, a yellow variety of quartz
  • Chemical formula: SiO₂ (silicon dioxide)
  • Hardness: 7 on the Mohs scale
  • Crystal system: Trigonal
  • Lustre: Vitreous on crystal faces, with a more muted appearance across rough areas
  • Appearance: Pale honey-yellow to golden tones

Geology & Formation

Quartz crystals grow as silica-rich fluids deposit mineral material within cavities and veins in rock. Double terminated crystals develop terminations at both ends where growth conditions allow. Citrine is the yellow to golden variety of quartz; its colour is associated with iron-related features within the mineral. Rough specimens retain the uneven surfaces and individual growth features that give each crystal its own character.

Crystal Properties

In crystal traditions, citrine is associated with abundance, optimism and personal confidence. Often called the “merchant’s stone”, it is believed to encourage motivation, creativity and a positive outlook. It is also linked with the solar plexus chakra and may be used as a symbolic focus for intention-setting or meditation. These associations are spiritual beliefs, not medical benefits.
