Natural Smoky Quartz Crystal Tower
A polished smoky quartz tower with a sharply faceted point. Warm translucent browns runs through this piece. Turn it towards the light and the darker veils, tiny specks and cloudy internal markings become more apparent, giving this individual piece a wonderfully layered look.
Physical Properties
Smoky quartz is a brown to grey variety of quartz (SiO₂), with a Mohs hardness of 7. This tower has smooth polished faces and a pointed termination, with natural-looking internal features visible through the stone.
Geology
Quartz forms as silica-rich fluids crystallise within rocks. Smoky quartz develops its colour through natural irradiation interacting with trace elements in its crystal structure. The origin of this specimen has not been confirmed.
Crystal Properties
In crystal traditions, smoky quartz is associated with grounding, calm and steadiness. Some people display a point on a desk or shelf as a reminder to pause and refocus.
