Very Large Clear Quartz Cluster
A genuine statement specimen: a dense, sculptural mass of clear quartz points growing out in every direction from a rugged natural base. Dozens of individual terminations crowd the surface, from slim needle-like tips to chunky milky spears, in a mix of water-clear, frosted white and soft champagne tones with faint mineral inclusions caught inside. Under a lamp the whole thing lights up, throwing glints across the room. At around 10kg this is proper floor-or-plinth furniture rather than a shelf ornament, and it makes an unforgettable centrepiece in a living room, studio, shop window or treatment space.
Physical Properties
- Composition: silicon dioxide (SiO2)
- Hardness: 7 on the Mohs scale
- Crystal system: trigonal, forming six-sided prisms with pointed terminations
- Lustre: vitreous, with a glassy shine on the polished-looking natural faces
- Transparency: transparent to milky translucent across the cluster
Geology & Formation
Clear quartz grows slowly from silica-rich fluids circulating through cavities and veins deep in the earth, with each crystal building up face by face over an immense span of time. Brazil is the world's best-known source of large, well-formed quartz clusters, and pieces on this scale come out of the ground as a single connected plate of crystals rather than being assembled, which is exactly what gives this one its natural, chaotic geometry.
Crystal Properties
Clear quartz is traditionally called the master healer and the amplifier. It is believed to clear and lift the energy of a room, sharpen focus and intention, and strengthen the effect of other crystals placed near it, which is why large clusters are often used as a central charging piece for a collection. These are long-standing beliefs rather than proven medical facts.
Specimen Details
- Material: natural clear quartz
- Form: cluster, many terminated points on a natural base
- Weight: approximately 10kg
- Origin: Brazil
- Finish: entirely natural and uncut, cleaned only
- Colouring: clear through frosted white, with natural inclusions
