Yooperlite is a trade name for sodalite-bearing syenite, an igneous rock. Its fluorescent sodalite responds to suitable ultraviolet light with an orange glow. This is fluorescence, not a glow-in-the-dark effect: the orange appearance requires UV illumination, and its intensity depends on the light used and the distribution of fluorescent minerals.
