What Does AA+ Mean?
Crystal grading reflects the overall quality of a specimen in terms of clarity, formation, lustre, and freedom from damage or heavy inclusions. AA+ grade represents the upper tier of quality — pieces selected for their superior clarity, well-terminated points, strong vitreous lustre, and minimal surface damage. These are collector-quality specimens, a significant step above standard commercial grade.

Geology: Clear Quartz is the purest form of quartz (SiO₂), one of the most abundant minerals on Earth. It forms in a wide range of geological environments — from pegmatites and hydrothermal veins to metamorphic and sedimentary rocks — growing as well-defined hexagonal prisms with pyramidal terminations. Clusters form when multiple crystals grow simultaneously from a shared base, creating the characteristic multi-point formation. Major sources include Brazil, Madagascar, Arkansas (USA), and the Alps.
