Tigers Eye Butterfly Wings Carving on Metal Stand Ornament - 120mm

£30.00

A stunning Tiger's Eye butterfly wings carving mounted on a decorative metal stand — an impressive 120mm ornament that showcases the warm golden-brown chatoyancy of this beloved gemstone in an elegant, display-ready form. A striking centrepiece for any crystal collection, desk, or altar.

Geology: Tiger's Eye is a pseudomorphic gemstone formed when crocidolite (blue asbestos) fibres are replaced by quartz (SiO₂) while retaining the original fibrous structure. This process, combined with iron oxide staining, produces the characteristic golden-brown colour and silky lustre. The remarkable optical phenomenon known as chatoyancy — the shifting, silky band of light — is caused by the parallel fibrous inclusions within the stone. Major sources include South Africa, Australia, India, and Namibia.

Physical Properties:

  • Composition: Quartz (SiO₂) pseudomorph after crocidolite
  • Hardness: 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale
  • Crystal system: Trigonal

In crystal healing traditions, Tiger's Eye is associated with courage, confidence, willpower, and grounded focus — linked to the solar plexus and sacral chakras. The butterfly is a universal symbol of transformation, freedom, and the soul's journey, making this carving a meaningful and beautiful piece for display, meditation, or gifting.
